Sport at Bennies

Mount St Benedict College offers a range of sports, which compete in local weekend and evening competitions. While it is not compulsory to play sport for the College, it is encouraged. It is a great way to learn new skills and make new friends.

All students in Years 7-10 participate in a fortnightly Physical Education program. In addition, the College offers students the opportunity to participate in sport as a co-curricular activity as well as at a representative level.

Full school Swimming and Athletics Carnivals are held at Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush each year. The Cross Country Carnival is open to any student who would like to compete.

Famous Australian sporting representatives who are ex-students include:

  • Jana Pittman (Athletics)
  • Joanne Carter (Ice skating)
  • Catherine Cox (Netball)
  • Jackie Gallagher (Triathlon).

Over the past few years we have had students represent at a National level for Athletics, Softball, Netball, Touch and Swimming.
