This newly created role for 2027 offers an exciting opportunity to help shape the next stage of Advancement at Mount St Benedict College. We are looking for a Community Engagement and Development Manager who is strategic, relational and proactive - someone who enjoys bringing people together, sees opportunities to strengthen engagement and is excited by the opportunity to build for the future. 

As a key member of our Advancement team, you will develop and grow meaningful, lifelong relationships across our College community, with a particular focus on alumnae engagement, current family engagement and the development of our emerging philanthropy program. You will work as part of a collaborative Advancement team, helping to develop new ideas, strengthen relationships and build the next stage of Advancement at the College. 

Mount St Benedict College is a girls' secondary school and a member of Good Samaritan Education, a community of ten schools across Australia. The College provides a holistic Catholic education grounded in the Good Samaritan Benedictine tradition and values of Pax, Hospitality and Stewardship. 

Build lifelong relationships with our alumnae 

Our alumnae are an important and enduring part of the Mount St Benedict College community. You will develop and grow the College's alumnae engagement program, creating meaningful  opportunities for connection, volunteering, mentoring, networking and philanthropic support that advance the College's strategic priorities.  You will help build a strong sense of lifelong connection to Bennies, celebrate the achievements of our alumnae and create opportunities for them to remain involved in and contribute to the College community. 

Strengthen connection with our current community 

You will develop engagement initiatives that strengthen connection, belonging and participation among current families, creating and delivering meaningful opportunities for parents and caregivers to contribute, connect and stay involved in College life. 

Help build our philanthropy program 

Mount St Benedict College is at the beginning of its philanthropy journey. Working closely with the Director of Advancement, you will help establish the foundations of a sustainable philanthropy program – identifying opportunities, advising on priorities, and developing a suite of giving initiatives that can grow over time. 

About you 

You are a strategic thinker who enjoys turning ideas into action. A highly relational approach and confidence in building authentic, long-term relationships with a diverse range of people are key to this role. 

Experience in a school or education environment is highly regarded, particularly in Advancement, alumnae engagement, community engagement, development, fundraising, marketing, communications or stakeholder relations.  

You will bring: 

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, community engagement, fundraising, business or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Three years' relevant professional experience, ideally in a school advancement, alumnae engagement, community engagement, marketing, fundraising or stakeholder relations environment.
• Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and translate priorities into practical initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to build and nurture authentic, long-term relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to create engaging communications for different audiences.
• Experience developing or coordinating community, alumnae, engagement or relationship-building initiatives.
• Experience coordinating projects, initiatives or events from planning through to delivery and evaluation.
• Confidence working with databases or CRM systems and using information to inform engagement and relationship management.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
• A valid Working with Children Check.

 Desirable 

• Experience working in an education environment, with an understanding of the context in which independent schools operate.
• Experience in fundraising and philanthropy, including annual giving, major gifts, capital campaigns or donor stewardship programs.
• Experience developing alumni, community engagement or volunteer programs.
• Experience developing communications, publications, newsletters or marketing collateral.
• Experience using digital platforms and social media to support community engagement and relationship building.
• Membership of Educate Plus or a similar professional educational advancement organisation.

The College is seeking a Careers, Pathways and Future Readiness Coordinator to join the College community commencing in Term 1, 2027. The Careers, Pathways and Future Readiness Coordinator ensures every student understands herself, discovers possibilities, makes informed choices and transitions confidently from school into a future where she can flourish and contribute to the world.The Coordinator leads the College's approach to careers education, pathways planning and post-school readiness across Years 7 to 12. The role builds career awareness and aspirational learning as a continuous, developmentally sequenced experience, working in close partnership with the MYBennies Coordinator and the REAL Coordinator to connect the school experience to post-school readiness programs and Senior School pathways provision.

ESSENTIAL

•                 Relevant teaching qualifications and NESA Registration

•                 Proven attention to detail and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

•                 Demonstrated ability to document, implement and monitor long and short-term strategic goals and plans

•                 A highly motivated attitude to work with the ability to seek out solutions and pro-actively problem solve

•                 A genuine passion and interest in working long-term in an independent school

•                 Commitment to the process of continuous improvement

•                 Sound IT skills including use of the Microsoft suite and a database system

•                 Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)

•                 Demonstrated experience designing or delivering career/pathways programs across multiple year levels, not solely senior years

•                 Current or willingness to obtain membership of a recognised professional careers association

•                 Ability to utilize and evaluate relevant data

•                 Willingness and experience in establishing meaningful connections outside college with stakeholders including TAFE, Private providers, Universities, Apprenticeships and training organisations

DESIRABLE

•                 An understanding of the charism of Good Samaritan Education as articulated in the Good Samaritan Schools Teaching and Learning Framework and the Good Samaritan Schools Mission Framework

•                 Significant experience in leadership in one or more schools

•                 A proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment

•                 Excellent IT skills including use of the Microsoft suite and a School database system

•                 Current First Aid Certificate, including CPR

•                 Experience partnering with Middle School transition, wellbeing or post-school readiness programs

The College is looking for applicants to lead our Diverse Learning faculty as the permanent full time Head of Diverse Learning, commencing Term 1, 2027.  

The Head of Diverse Learning provides strategic leadership of the College's approach to inclusion, learning diversity and student pathways. The role ensures all students are engaged, challenged and supported to thrive academically and personally, particularly those requiring additional support, EAL/D learners, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, and students in the Intensive Learning class. Working closely with the College Registrar, Heads of Department, teachers, families and external agencies, the Head of Diverse Learning leads the identification and support of students from enrolment through to post-school pathways.

 ESSENTIAL

• NESA accredited teacher with a valid Working with Children Check
• Postgraduate qualifications in Inclusive Education, Diverse Learning, or a related field or working toward these
• Excellent IT skills including use of the Microsoft suite and a school database system
• Experience in school leadership
• Proven capacity to lead teams and manage staff as a key member of the College Middle Leaders
• Demonstrated expertise in Universal Design for Learning, EAL/D, and Indigenous student support.
• Experience in data-informed pedagogy, coaching teachers, and leading professional learning.
• Commitment to Catholic, Benedictine and Good Samaritan ethos and values
