Class of 2014
As this edition of Bennies Buzz goes
to print, our Class of 2014 students
are in the midst of their HSC exams.
We will share their success with you
in our next edition.
In the final week of Term Three, the College bid an
emotional farewell to the girls. It was a special week
filled with new experiences and long held traditions
celebrating faith, friendship, family and academic
achievement. It was also a time for reflection on
the journey from the beginning of high school.
As the Year 12 girls journeyed through the week
the emotions associated with letting go and saying
goodbyes surfaced at different times and in different
ways, but throughout the week the girls were their
usual dignified selves, grateful to their teachers
and parents, expressing thanks to all those who
have helped them along the way and passing on
messages to the younger students.
College Principal, Mrs Maria Pearson noted at the
Year 12 Graduation Dinner “In years to come, and
for many years, probably until old age, you will
remember the girls with whom you shared your
school days. Our doors will always be open to
you as past pupils and we will look forward to
welcoming you back.”
‘Connect’ Night
In the first event of their final week the girls came
together for an evening of reflection, sharing, prayer
and celebration. Facilitated by Ms Christina Liu, College
Chaplain, with the support of twenty staff, the girls
shared rich experiences and were able to recognise and
acknowledge the importance of the years they have shared,
the relationships they have forged and the understanding
of the Good Samaritan values they have developed.
Reflections were offered by MSB Teacher, Mr David
Greenwell and Annabelle Doheny of Year 12. There were
also some reflective activities involving students taking
time on their own as well as time with friends. The girls
shared a meal together in the staffroom and also had the
opportunity to see some video messages recorded by
a number of staff members. The evening finished with
an informal liturgy centred on a blessing ritual with water
and the word of God. It was a wonderful time of prayer
and reflection for our students, setting a wonderful tone
for the week that followed.
Year 12 Farewell Assembly
Year 12 farewelled the College community with
an entertaining final assembly.
House Farewells
Each House bid an emotional farewell to their Year 12
students, celebrating each girl and their contribution
to their House and to their Homeroom.
