2019 YEAR 8 PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM
Dear Parent / Guardian,
As part of your daughter’s regular Physical Education program she will be given the opportunity to participate in a variety of sporting and leisure activities. Some activities will be undertaken in the College grounds (oval, hall or courts) whilst others will require students to leave the College grounds via bus or walking to the venue.
The activities that may take place either internally or externally to the College are:
Year 8: Zumba Classes, Athletics, Tennis, Ice skating, Soccer, Hockey, Fitness classes, Aqua Aerobics, Power-walking around streets within the local area.
MSB teaching staff or external specialists in their sporting or leisure field, will facilitate the activities.
An outline of uniform and behavioural expectations for these activities is provided in the front of your daughter’s PDHPE workbook. At the beginning of the school year, parents and students will be asked to sign, acknowledge and agree to uphold these requirements.
Please note for aquatic activities and the Term One swimming carnival, students must wear one-piece swimmers.
It would be appreciated if you could please complete the permission form (CLICK HERE FOR LINK), by Monday 4 February. This will then enable the activities to commence from the second week of Term One.
Without completed consent, your daughter will not be permitted to leave the College and will be required to stay at school.
In addition, throughout the year some of the external fitness centres will also require that parents complete a Pre-exercise Questionnaire as part of their protocol and risk management procedures. These forms will be sent home prior to the specific activity.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss any details, please contact either of us at the College.
