Public Speaking

Public Speaking Competitions open to students include Rostrum Voice of Youth, the Catholic Schools Public Speaking Competition and the Legacy Junior Public Speaking Award.

Other speaking opportunities are offered to our students as they arise. Recently, three Yr 11 students participated in the Mock United Nations Assembly Competition (MUNA) organised by the Rotary Club of Ryde. In this competition, which is open to all NSW schools, students are required to speak to United Nations style resolutions ranging from Water Security to Nuclear Proliferation, on behalf of their chosen country. Our students, who spoke passionately and intelligently on behalf of Rwanda, were placed equal third.
