Mount St Benedict Ex-students Association (MSBESA)

Staying Connected

Ex-students are important to the survival of the memory of Bennies.

The friendships you have built, the knowledge that you have learnt, as well as the antics that went on behind the school gates have formed who you are now or will become in the future.

Staying connected will keep the flame alight as stories will continue to be told through newsletters, Bennies Buzz, Beyond Bennies Breakfast and Bennies Connect.   These stories will be of days gone by, where people are currently at in life and keeping you up to date with the progress of Bennies moving into the future. Our ex-students and their stories are our best way of sharing this fantastic school with the rest of the community.

The ex-students database currently sits at over 6,000 members.  Each and every one of these members has left their imprint on the school and has helped make it what is today.  Both Bennies and you benefit from taking this journey and maintaining it into the future, which is why it is important to become an involved ex-student.

Mount St Benedict Ex-students’ Association (MSBESA)

MSBESA was formed in 2001 as part of the 35th anniversary celebrations for the College and has grown considerably over the years.  MSBESA exists to strengthen the ties between ex-students and our current College community.

All ex-students for whom we have contact details receive the bi-annual publication Bennies Buzz in order to keep up with the news of current and ex-students.  The College has also launched Bennies Connect to help ex-students keep in touch with each other and the College.

However for a once only fee of $100 you can become a life time financial member of MSBESA.  This fee helps MSBESA give back to the College through funding an annual scholarship for the daughter of an ex-student, donations to the College and the provision of a farewell gift for graduating Year 12 students.

The aims of MSBESA are to provide former students of the school with:

  • An acknowledgement of a common educational and religious base
  • A base on which to build College traditions for the present and future students
  • A means for acknowledging and recognising the achievements of past students and encouraging the prospects of present and future students
  • A means of offering financial assistance to the present and future students of the College.

With the assistance of Bennies Connect,  becoming a Mentor, keeping details up to date and staying in touch will be so much easier for MSBESA members.

Eligibility: If you attended the College during your secondary schooling you are most welcome to join us and to become an active part of the continuation of the rich traditions of the College. Current students and students who have a confirmed enrolment for 2014 or later are also welcome to join.
