Orientation and Transition
Orientation Program for families entering the College in 2018
The Orientation Program provides an opportunity for parents and students to be introduced to the College environment and to receive information for a smooth transition. The Allwell Test for students and Parent Information morning will be held on Saturday 4 November 2017. Another test will be offered in early 2018 for those unable to attend.
Orientation Program for Year 7 2018
An Orientation Day for new Year 7 students is organised each year. It is a fun-filled day where incoming students will have the opportunity to meet each other and their Year 10 Peer Support Leaders who will help them settle into the College. Orientation for Year 7 2018 students will be held Friday 17 November 2017.
Orientation for new students commencing in Years 8 - 12 during the College Year
New students will spend an afternoon with their House Coordinator who will provide them with key information and introduce them to staff in the IRC (Library) and the ICT (Technology) Departments and the College Chaplain. Ex-student mentors will be on-hand for support and share afternoon tea provided by the College. The Orientation Afternoon is Monday 30 January 2017 from 1.00pm.
At the beginning of their first day students will then be linked with a buddy who will help them to settle in.
A follow-up meeting with the House Coordinator will occur about four to six weeks after entry to ensure a smooth transition.
